Audience
Preceptors of baccalaureate prepared student interns in nursing homes

Purpose
To prepare nurses to precept nurse interns in the nursing home setting

Objectives
After completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of their role as preceptors of student interns
  2. Understand the experience and needs of student nurses transitioning to a competent and confident professional long term care nurse
  3. Develop precepting strategies that will build confidence and competence in nurse interns
