Registration and Continuing Education Credit: Registration is free to Wisconsin nurses given an access code through participation in the Linking Education and Practice for Excellence in Public Health Nursing Project (LEAP). The registration fee is $15 for all others.

The modules for this course are taken in order. When you successfully complete a module (i.e., pass the quiz), you will automatically receive access to the next module. After successful completion of all four course modules, you will receive a certificate of completion awarding 4.0 ANCC nursing contact hours and 0.4 CEUs.

Purpose
To develop a better understanding of and skills needed to practice evidence-based public health nursing.

Target Audience
Practicing public health nurses in Wisconsin interested in incorporating evidence-based models into nursing practice.

Objectives
After completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Define evidence-based public health (EBPH)
  2. Understand the importance of incorporating evidence-based skills into nursing practice
  3. Apply evidence-based principles to public health problems
  4. Develop research skills to locate the best evidence in appropriate resource tools
  5. Build effective search strategies from problem statements
  6. Evaluate and process search results
