Purpose: Despite the best intentions, good planning, and sincere effort, challenging situations occasionally arise when working with student nurses in clinical settings. This module addresses what preceptors should do if these types of challenges arise.

Objectives:
  1. Identify situations when it is appropriate to contact the clinical course professor for assistance
  2. Understand the preceptor role with regard to addressing inappropriate student behavior in the clinical setting
  3. Understand common reasons for student/preceptor conflict and strategies for conflict resolution


Computer Requirements:
  • Operating system and web browser:
    • Windows XP or 2000 with Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.x, or higher
      OR
