Purpose: Nursing students in community health clinical courses seek to learn how nurses care for individuals, families, and populations in community settings. This module will highlight key population health concepts that you can reinforce with students. It will also assist you in identifying population-focused learning experiences for nursing students in your agency.

Objectives:
  1. Distinguish between community-based and population-focused student learning opportunities
  2. Identify community-based and population-focused student learning opportunities in the learner's practice setting
  3. Describe teaching strategies appropriate in the community health setting


Computer Requirements:
  • Operating system and web browser:
    • Windows XP or 2000 with Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.x, or higher
      OR
    • Macintosh OS 10.3.x with Safari 1.x or Firefox 1.x, or higher
