Audience:
Preceptors of baccalaureate prepared student interns in nursing homes
Purpose:
To prepare nurses to precept nurse interns in the nursing home setting
Objectives:
After completing this course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the importance of their role as preceptors of student interns
- Understand the experience and needs of student nurses transitioning to a competent and confident professional long term care nurse
- Develop precepting strategies that will build confidence and competence in nurse interns
