Registration and Continuing Education Credit: Registration is free to Wisconsin nurses given an access code through participation in the Linking Education and Practice for Excellence in Public Health Nursing Project (LEAP). For more information about LEAP visit: http://www.son.wisc.edu/leap.

The registration fee is $10 for all others.

Purpose: 
Public health nursing is grounded in public health and nursing science. The Wisconsin Public Health Nursing Practice Model is a graphic representation of the core concepts that provide the foundation for practice as a public health nurse in Wisconsin. The purpose of this course is to introduce learners to the Wisconsin Public Health Nursing Practice Model as the organizing framework for learning population-focused public health nursing.

Target Audience: 
Public health nurses in Wisconsin

Objectives: 
After completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify the nine components of the Wisconsin Public Health Nursing Practice Model
  2. Describe the purpose of the model as a graphic aid to learning and communicating the core concepts of public health nursing practice
