Learning cultural competence

Purpose: Throughout their education, nursing students grow in their ability to provide nursing services that are culturally aware and relevant. Specific information about teaching strategies that promote skill development in cultural competence is the focus of this module.

Objectives:
  1. Define the attributes of cultural competency.
  2. Describe the process of developing cultural competency.
  3. Identify teaching strategies for helping nursing students develop cultural competency.

    • Windows XP or 2000 with Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.x, or higher
